NY ALERT OFFERS VACCINE NOTIFICATIONS

NY ALERT is a service used by Columbia County to provide certain “alerts” to residents of the county.  NY ALERT accounts are provided by NYS free of charge and may be accessed through this link: https://alert.ny.gov 

Columbia County has recently developed a NY ALERT category for residents to receive general COVID-19 vaccine information by email and/or text message.    

For those who already have a NY ALERT account, sign in and go to “my subscriptions.” Under Columbia County, check off the box for COVID-19 vaccine information, then click save – you should begin to receive informational emails and/or text messages when they are distributed.  

If you do not already have a NY ALERT account, sign up and follow the instructions to create your account, then follow the instructions outlined above to get COVID-19 vaccine information emails and/or text messages.

PHARMACIES TO PROVIDE VACCINE

The following pharmacies in Columbia County are developing vaccination plans, and have signed up with New York State to be providers once there is a supply available:

Hannaford in Valatie and Hudson

Price Chopper in Chatham

ShopRite in Greenport 

Walgreens in Greenport and Chatham

Walmart in Greenport

The Columbia County Department of Health has a dedicated telephone number for those with questions: 518-697-5560. The line is active Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Call takers provide general information about vaccine availability in Columbia County. They cannot determine eligibility for the vaccine. To check on vaccination distribution procedures and other vaccine-related information, residents may to consult the New York State Department of Health website at https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov
