Town-Wide Yard Sale

In mid-May each year, the town of Germantown holds a town-wide yard sale. For a small fee, participants can get their name and location on a map that is made available to all shoppers.

Memorial Day Parade

Each Memorial Day the Town of Germantown hosts a parade down Main Street to Palatine Park to honor the men and women who died while serving our country. The Germantown Central School marching band participates as do youth sports teams, Boy and Girl Scouts, many local civic organizations and businesses, Town officials, and the fire and police departments — plus spectators enjoy horse drawn wagons and equestrians. A picnic for families and participants follows at Palatine Park.

4th of July Celebration

The Town of Germantown hosts an Independence Day Celebration each Summer. Gates open at 4 p.m. and fireworks above the lake take place around 9:30 p.m. Live music, vendors and food add to the festive atmosphere. Visit the event’s website for details:

911 Observance

On this anniversary we pause to remember those who died in this terrible tragedy. Town officials gather at the Town Memorial at 9am, to pay their respects.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Stroll

In early December, everyone is invited to usher in the holiday season with the lighting of the Town Christmas tree. Kids are invited to visit with Santa after his arrival by wagon.
